In response to today’s United States Supreme Court ruling in West Virginia v. EPA, Rare released the following statement:
“Rare decries the US Supreme Court’s ruling limiting the vital work of the EPA. While we must continue to collectively push for policies that protect people and the planet, the Supreme Court ruling further shows the hurdles climate policies face. This moment is a reminder that individuals and communities can play a meaningful role in tackling climate change. Not only does shifting our individual actions and behaviors reduce emissions, but it also shifts social norms and the public appetite for stronger climate policies. The interests of polluters and profits cannot be put ahead of people and planet.”
