We are saddened by the loss of Betty Moore, a generous philanthropist, a passionate advocate for science, and a champion for the environment.
Through the vision and support of Betty, her late husband, Gordon, and the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, Rare launched the Center for Behavior & the Environment (BE.Center) in 2017. With the Foundation’s continued support, the BE.Center has trained over 2,500 environmental practitioners in behavior-centered design, while building an online community of practitioners from over 80 countries. Today, the BE.Center serves the environmental field as an open-access hub, equipping practitioners, students, and others working on the frontlines of our greatest environmental challenges.
