Itinerary
12:00 pm | Welcome Lunch
Begin the afternoon with a seasonal farm-to-table lunch overlooking the vineyards and rolling landscape of Oakencroft Farm & Winery. Gather with Trustees, partners, and Rare leadership from across the organization for conversation, connections, and a shared sense of purpose as we kick off this special convening focused on the future of regenerative agriculture. Oakencroft’s 250-acre farm and vineyard is guided by principles of regenerative agriculture and carbon sequestration, making it an inspiring setting for the day ahead.
1:00pm | Tour of Oakencroft
Join Dorothy Batten, owner of Oakencroft Farm & Winery, and Kevin Green, Rare’s VP of Global Solutions, for a guided exploration of the farm, vineyards, and regenerative systems that make Oakencroft unique. In the field, we’ll experience how thoughtful land stewardship, biodiversity, and sustainable wine production come together on this remarkable property.
2:00 PM | Afternoon Conversation: What Will It Take to Scale Regenerative Agriculture?
The afternoon will bring together bold ideas and candid discussion around one of the defining challenges — and opportunities — of our time: scaling regenerative agriculture across landscapes, industries, and communities. Together, we’ll explore innovation, policy adoption, blended finance, partnerships, and the integration of solutions on land and sea. Expect an engaging and forward-looking conversation designed to spark collaboration, fresh thinking, and new momentum.
You’ll hear from Rare experts from around the world – like Colombia’s Monica Varela, global Managing Director of Rare’s Regional Programs Rocky Sanchez Tirona based in The Philippines, innovative finance leader Kate Schweigart, and Rare President Dr. Caleb McClennen – as well as other experts from outside of Rare like Ugandan remote sensing scientist Dr. Catherine Nakalembe, and more.
5:00 PM | Wine Tasting & Golden Hour Reception
As the afternoon transitions into evening, join us for a lively reception featuring local wines, seasonal locavore bites, and golden-hour views across the vineyard. The conversation continues in a more relaxed spirit — equal parts celebration, inspiration, and community.
6:00 PM | Dinner & Celebration
We’ll close the evening gathered for dinner, conversation, and celebration in a memorable setting at Oakencroft. Together, we’ll toast the partnerships, ideas, and collective ambition driving Rare’s work forward – to inspire change so people and nature thrive.
